名前見て、一瞬別のレイノルズ女史を連想したがよく見ると違った。
巻末註っていうのがねぇ。
参考文献はあるのでよろし。

中世の読書というかテクスト理解を扱う研究には、文献学からのアプローチと本書のような文学からのアプローチがある模様。

しかし、文学側からのアプローチは取り扱い注意ということで。
知っている範囲では、中世英文学からのテクスト解釈研究がかなり歴史的コンテクストから離れたことを言うことがあるみたい。特にチョーサリアンは要注意とのこと。
まあ、あくまで自分の史料に関係する範囲での話しですが。

本書はざーっと見た限りそういう危険性は低そうな。
